Trelleborg Automotive expands Noida facility

Trelleborg Automotive, a global engineering group focused on polymer technology, has completed capacity expansion at its manufacturing facility for anti-vibration solutions (AVS) located in Noida near Delhi. The expansion of the facility has resulted in a 50 per cent increase in manufacturing space, the installation of a high-tech metal cleaning line and 20 state-of-the-art rubber injection presses. In addition to the range of anti-vibration solutions currently offered at the Indian facility, the expansion will also see the company introduce production cells for the manufacture of hydromounts at the Noida facility. Paul Race, operations director, Trelleborg Automotive AVS Asia, says: “We have operated in India since 1996 and have a wide knowledge of the regional automotive industry, as such; we recognised the market’s exponential growth. With more than 2.5 million new vehicles expected to be on India’s roads within the next 12 months, this growth is set to continue. The Indian car market is growing day-by-day and our enhanced site means we have the capacity to fulfill significant increases in orders. We are committed to offering the highest standard of engineered solutions to the automotive industry and are investing in the best equipment and facilities to enable us to do so. The Noida facility is the latest in a series of expansions for Trelleborg Automotive which have seen it recently open a manufacturing facility in Zavolzhye, Russia and establish a R&D facility in Shanghai, China, which is due to open at the end of 2011. "The investment in our Noida site will bring major benefits to our customers. The new presses give greater capacity with quicker cycle times. In addition, the high specification cleaning line can be used for both aluminium and steel, providing increased flexibility and efficiency," he added.
